Abuse #2 to be shown in NYC

Larry Jones will be showing a new piece in NYC this summer. Abuse #2 was selected for GEOFORM: A mixed media exhibition. The exhibition will be held at JanKossen Contemporarty and ARTEPONTE New York gallery premises in Chelsea, during 13th July - 19th August 2017.

Celebrating abstract art that is based on the use of geometric forms, sometimes seen as a non-illusionistic space and combined into non-objective (non-representational) compositions, the exhibition Geoforms explores the genre of contemporary non-objective abstraction, created using a variety of mediums.

Artists Statement

Larry Jones's career spans 50 years and includes ceramics, printmaking, jewelry, historic conservation and sculpture. The submitted pieces are an abstract exploration of having memories triggered by a news item. As a graduate student turning 70, he found himself reexamining memories of emotional and physical abuse suffered as a child.
